Love
this show, suitable for any age and makes racial jokes that are funny
and light-hearted but not offensive. It's also really feel-good as well,
and the nostalgia isn't depressing like I've felt with other films and
TV set in past decades. Really good to lift your spirits and the
characters are very likeable. However, the reason I've only given it
7/10 despite all the good things I've said about it is because of the
show's one big problem: the acting. Most of the adults' acting is fine
and Constance Wu's performance is excellent. However, the child acting,
my God, it's so bad sometimes that the jokes don't even come across,
even when the jokes themselves are very funny. Eddie, his youngest
brother (the kid who plays his middle brother Emory is fairly decent)
and (most of) his friends honestly have the same amount of acting talent
as school kids in their end of year show. I know that's a disrespectful
remark but seriously it's the truth. I just don't understand how they
could've chosen these particular child actors for the roles. Were there
no others? Were pickings really that slim? Anyway, it's a shame that the
acting has dragged it down because it would be a great show otherwise,
not just a good one. Still, it's a very likeable and funny show and I
hope it continues. 7/10 for me.
